Welcome to Momo Cha! We serve homestyle Nepalese dumplings and snacks. We make everything from scratch, just like if you were invited for a momo party in our home!
Our mission is to serve the city of Detroit authentic Nepalese food in a hip, locally conscious and accessible way. We are inviting our city to experience communal family dishes that honor the spirit of Kathmandu.
Nepal is a country sandwiched between India and Tibet. The country is known for epic mountaineering and history, but we love it for its incredible food. Favorites include lentils cooked with tomatoes, fenugreek leaves and mustard seeds or simple chicken curry served with spicy pickled radish. And of course momos - literally the country’s number one favorite dish. Momos are made from a traditional South Asian spice blend of ginger-garlic, cilantro, cumin, turmeric and masala blends. Chef Lama has 25 years of experience cooking Nepalese and Indian food. More importantly, he’s been eating momos since before he could walk.
